Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ family accommodation in 12 Houses across the UK, situated just a stone’s throw away from a partnered NHS children’s hospital. The Charity’s vision is for every child in hospital to have their families close by, and fully supported. Ronald McDonald House Charities UK is able to provide this support to families thanks to donations collected in McDonald’s restaurants and deliveries, and through direct fundraising, events and campaigns.

 

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Over the past year or so, Ronald McDonald House Charities UK began working on plans to increase their direct fundraising, activities and campaigns and therefore needed a Fundraising and Donor Management System that is able to grow and manage Donor Relationships effectively. At the time of engagement, the Charity was relying on the McDonalds Finance System & CRM, which is not the optimal fit as a stable and long-term solution for Reporting, Fundraising or supporting their Donor Stewardship.

Ronald McDonald House Charities UK was relying on a solution that demanded highly manual processes for Fundraising, Event Management, Room Management and Room Booking. In addition, their previous system was ineffective in giving them a single view of the truth when it came to managing the Donor Journey and providing a full picture of the Families they support. With a commitment to upgrading to a future-proofed, connected system from the CEO throughout every level of the Charity, the Charity began their search for the best solution.

 

BUSINESS SOLUTION

Working collaboratively with Ronald McDonald House Charities UK to get a deep and complete understanding of their requirements, and the incredible work that they do supporting families, we captured and understood their needs entirely. And having worked on a similar project with our Clients, Leonard Cheshire Disability Charity, we had the skills-in house to build a Fundraising and Donor Management System that would give the Charity a future-proofed system that empowered them to work more effectively, connectedly and efficiently.

We provided a solution that comprised of:

  • Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management: to replace legacy finance systems provided by McDonalds that were not sustainable for the charity, including: Project Management and Accounting, Purchasing, Product Management, Expense Management, Resource Planning, and Fixed Assets
  • Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement: including, Portals External Website, Marketing and Registration PowerApp: to provide the functionality to support specific charity requirements
  • QUANTIQ CareTEQ: including Room Booking, Marketing, Donor Management, Volunteer Management
  • Power BI: to provide new and enhanced Reporting and Business Intelligence capabilities for managers and operational staff, as House Managers operational dashboards
