We recognise that we need to actively champion change in order to foster an inclusive workplace. To address this, in 2020 we created listening circles, giving our Teammates a platform to discuss everything Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We also have Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Champions across the business who focus on driving our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda forward.

At the core of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda, is a passion for embracing and celebrating our individuality in order to foster a sense of unity across QUANTIQ. We all have a story to tell, and our aim is to ensure these stories are heard.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, to me, refers to the rich historical, cultural, social or personal differences between people. Be that gender, background, nationality, race, class, age, identity or anything else; big or small. To me, inclusion is about making spaces safe and equitable for everyone by understanding, respecting and celebrating those differences. Especially when there are differences that are, or have historically been, subject to bias or discrimination.

I joined this group to help support, in any way I can, changes or initiatives that make QUANTIQ an even more inclusive place to be. One of the pillar-stones of the culture here has always been to celebrate the people in our team – and I would love to ensure we keep learning, sharing and growing that culture into initiatives that make QUANTIQ an even greater place to work.

There is a common misconception that one person belongs to one minority group, but in reality, most are in multiple minority groups that could impact them in many different settings. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is about making sure any individual feels ‘normal’ and ‘comfortable’ in any situation they may face without justifying why they feel this way. This can be as simple as feeling confident and respected for your expertise when walking into a meeting room, and not because of your skin colour, gender, nationality, or any other unique traits we all have.

Subjects such as racism are often opinionated, and rather than following the trend of ‘this is racist, don’t do that’, I like to convey views through real experiences and ask people to make their own mind up even if they disagree. I also want to learn about other individuals that have faced experiences I may not have even thought about.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion was ingrained in me from an early age. Both my parents are Indian and when my siblings and I were born, they wanted to ensure we ‘fit in’ by deciding to name us English names, especially as we lived in a predominantly white area. This had zero impact towards our integration into society as the name you are given does not change the colour of your skin. I faced a number of problems when growing up such as being 1 of 3 British Indians (you and your siblings) at school.

I want to help people realise that embracing your diversity should not be shameful and you need not try and “fit in”, society is much more accommodating than it used to be and QUANTIQ is a true reflection of that and we welcome everyone.

Modern Slavery (Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking) Policy

Modern slavery is a crime and violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms such as slavery, servitude, force and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

QUANTIQ has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings, relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chain.

QUANTIQ recognise women are under-represented in certain industries with the Technology and IT sector being one of them. This fact is reflected in our own workforce which, overall, is approximately 70% / 30% males to females. QUANTIQ’s Support Bubbles

QUANTIQ want to support all of our Teammates and put their health and wellbeing at the forefront of our business.  Through the sharing of experiences, we can offer our Teammates support, encouragement and comfort.

QUANTIQ have created support bubbles for various groups including new starters, Teammates on maternity and working parents to name just a few!  And our support system doesn’t stop there, with dedicated and trained Mental Health First Aiders available to all our Teammates, we understand the importance of supporting our Teammates well-being.
